Update in the app#
Use the app’s update button. Stable and tester update separately. Compatible updates preserve membership/gift prices, hit regions, layouts, media and voices, with a pre-migration backup. You should not need to calibrate again. Back up the entire app folder before moving PCs.
Portable versus Microsoft Store#
For a Store installation, use Microsoft Store → Library → Get updates. Store approval may take longer. Extracting a ZIP into a new folder creates a separate installation. Do not mix Store and portable files or replace your data folder with an empty one.
Back up the portable folder#
Close the app, then copy its entire folder, including .env, data, logs, media, voices and fonts. Keep the original until you check the copy. Google may require sign-in again on another Windows account or PC.
Import event history#
Export from Data, then import into a fresh app folder with no event history. Import rebuilds totals without adding timer time or replaying alerts. Reset History archives entries; it does not reset the timer or make the database fresh enough for import.
If Windows blocks a download#
Keep antivirus enabled. Send support the detected filename, warning and app version. An update signature checks origin and integrity; it is not an antivirus clearance or an Authenticode publisher certificate.
If your old settings seem missing#
Reopen the original app folder and check that only one copy is running. Keep both folders and their backups. Do not delete data or reset the app. Send a support report with the old/new version and update method; never send keys, cookies or private source URLs.
